Italian motorcycle registrations +14 percent for first 11 months

The latest data released by the motorcycle industry trade association in Italy (ANCMA, Milan) shows new motorcycle registrations there for November up substantially over last year's September volumes at 2,581 units (+50.15 percent).



For the first 11 months of this year they are up by 14.75 percent at 60,837 units.
In total PTW terms November was +28.85 percent (7,374 units), and the Italian market is running at +9.46 percent for the year-to date (66,150 units).
The top selling motorcycle in Italy so far this year is the BMW R 1200 GS (3,146 units), followed by Yamaha's MTY-09 Tracer (2,595), the Ducati Scrambler (2,432) and BMW’s R 1200 GS Adventure (1,977 units).
Honda own all three of the top-spots in the Italian scooter market with over 21,000 of their SH 150/125/300 variants sold so far this year.
Naked style bikes (+33.32 percent), sport bike models (+18.74 percent) and Touring models (+21.23 percent) are the growth sectors in Italy, with, as elsewhere in Europe, the strongest growth in motorcycle displacement terms coming in the 751-1000cc market (+39.06 percent) and 501-600cc power band (+13.43 percent).
