Kawasaki Motorcycle & Engine division sales revenue level for first nine months of current financial year

The Motorcycle & Engine division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries has released financial data for its third quarter performance (the nine months to December 31st 2014) revealing worldwide sales of 397,000 motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, PWCs and generators.

This is a -1.5% decrease from the first nine months of their 2013/2014 performance (403,000 units sold), but the decline has resulted in a negligible change in sales revenue, which has remained pretty much stable at US$1.8 billion.
Kawasaki say that sales were up in Europe (and Indonesia), but they lost ground in Latin America and Thailand. North American sales are reported as having remained stable at around 60,000 units in the nine month period.
In motorcycle terms, data available from the Japanese Automotive & Motorcycle Association (JAMA) for the nine months from April to December 2014 saw Kawasaki produce just over 55,000 motorcycles of all displacements and styles in Japan, with some 7,000 sold domestically and approximately 48,000 exported.
This places Kawasaki as the smallest of the four Japanese motorcycle manufacturers in terms of domestic sales, production and exports of domestically produced motorcycles for the nine month period; Yamaha is the largest in all cases.
